Share the joys of yoga and the uplifting energy of fresh flowers in a fun-filled workshop from Rachel of Nanaquaket Yoga and Jill of Studio Choo East. Workshop includes a one hour ALL LEVELS Gentle Flow Class led by Rachael, a copy of The Flower Recipe Book, and a floral arranging demonstration and talk by Jill. We'll finish off the afternoon with light refreshments and book signing!

Jill Rizzo, owner of Studio Choo East, and Anna Jane Kocon, owner of Little State Flower Company are thrilled to host an informative talk and workshop on the nuances of the flower farmer/florist relationship at Blithewold Mansion. Join us for a fun evening of discussion about the importance of local and U.S. grown flowers to the local economy and environment, what it means to work with seasonal blooms for floral design, and the nature of the relationship between flower farmer and florist. Anna Jane will go into detail about the concepts and ideas behind her specialty cut flower farm, and Jill will offer some insights on what it means to be a florist committed to working with seasonal and local blooms whenever possible.
Wine, cheese and Studio Choo’s books will be available for sale and signing following the discussion.
EARTH DAY FLORAL WORKSHOP

LOCATION: Newport Vineyards. 909 East Main Rd, Middletown, RI
DETAILS: $75. Saturday, April 22, 2017. 9:30 am– 11:30 am
This workshop will focus on arranging with local blooms and foliage from Little State Flower Company. There will also be an informative discussion on the importance of locally grown flowers in your community and environment. Participants will create and take home their own work of floral art and will win a chance at some great door prizes! Cost includes all the materials to create an arrangement (flowers and vessel), demonstration, and one-on-one design instruction.
